Come join us!

WHO MAY JOIN THE CLUB?

We welcome junior badminton players, aged 13 to 17, of all abilities.

To ensure proper supervision and compliance with appropriate child protection arrangements,  you must apply to join the club and receive a confirmation of membership.  Please do not turn up and expect to play at one of our sessions if you have not received a confirmation of membership.

Players aged 18 or older might like to join our adult club.  For further information on our adult club, visit www.glenearnbadminton.co.uk

Junior badminton players below the age of 13 might be interested in Perth Junior Badminton Club - visit http://perthbadminton.org.uk/development/

WHEN DO YOU MEET?

Our weekly club nights are on Mondays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  We meet on Mondays on which Perth & Kinross schools are open.

For further details, see our club nights page.

WHERE DO YOU MEET?

On Mondays, we meet at the Academy of Sport and Wellbeing at Perth College UHI.

For more information on how to find us, see our club nights page.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

There is a fee of £2 per night for each one-hour club session.  The cost of hiring the courts and the cost of the shuttles we play with are included in the fee.  Players may also borrow a racquet from us on club nights at no cost.

WHO WILL SUPERVISE THE CLUB SESSIONS?

Glenearn Junior Badminton Club will be run by a number of volunteers under the auspices of Glenearn Badminton Club.  We will provide details of all of our volunteers, all of who are experienced badminton players.  We comply with appropriate child protection arrangements, under guidance from Badminton Scotland.

Our Child Protection Officer is Sandi MacDougall.  Sandi is also the Club Secretary and an accredited badminton coach.  Sandi has been coaching at Perth Junior Badminton Club for a number of years.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Players should bring suitable attire to play badminton in, including shoes with non-marking soles.

We expect most of our members bring their own badminton racquet but we should be able to lend you a racquet to use on the night.

We recommend you bring a drink.

You do not need to bring shuttlecocks.  The Club provides shuttles and the cost is included in the nightly fee.

CAN I JUST TURN UP?

Places at the junior club are limited.  You must apply to join the club and receive a confirmation of membership.  Please do not turn up and expect to play at one of our sessions if you have not received a confirmation of membership.

WHAT ARE CLUB NIGHTS LIKE?

We aim for our weekly club nights to be friendly and relatively informal.
